Do the pregnancy or birth processes seem a little daunting? Doulas and midwives are great people to have by your side during the birthing process. Read why!
If you’re like most of our patients, you never imagined that becoming a parent would be so hard. In fact, you may have taken extensive measures to avoid becoming pregnant until the moment when you were finally ready. When that moment came – and went – you felt frustrated, sad, angry and perhaps a little scared. Fortunately, your feelings and your experiences are common, and at Red Rock Fertility Center, we can help you make the transition from wishful parent to parent-to-be.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), about 11% of women in the United States have had trouble getting or staying pregnant. Among men, 18% of those who sought medical help were diagnosed with a type of male infertility.
This means that each day in the United States, thousands of men and women seek treatment for infertility. Thousands of men and women are exactly where you are, hoping for a baby and seeking help to make that dream a reality.
There are many resources available for people struggling with infertility. The largest group in the US is RESOLVE, The National Infertility Association. RESOLVE provides a community for the millions struggling with infertility, connecting them with others who can help & empowering them to find a solution. They lead efforts to increase public education and reduce the stigma around infertility and promises to protect legal access to all family building options. Most importantly they provide free support programs in communities nationwide as well as a large online support group.
In addition to RESOLVE there are many online forums and support groups dedicated to infertility:
If you’re seeking treatment for infertility, you’re probably wondering whether the time, expense, and mental anguish of the procedure is worth the end result. Will you finally have the baby that your family has been dreaming of, or will you be left searching for other options?
Fortunately, the CDC offers an encouraging word for parents hoping to become pregnant through assisted reproductive technology (ART). According to the CDC, “ART…has allowed many couples to have children that otherwise would not have been conceived.”
The CDC offers the following statistics for the live birth success rate of ART:
While women over the age of 40 are less likely to become pregnant, there are many factors that affect the success of ART. These include the infertility problem you’re experiencing and the procedure being performed. At Red Rock, we’re committed to quality and to doing everything we can to help you achieve your dream. We specialize in difficult cases and have had success with patients up to 45 with their own eggs and 54 with donor eggs.
