Making the decision to have a baby is so exciting, it can be difficult to wait for the human body to go through its natural process. As you crunch numbers and dates in your head as you try to figure out your best time to conceive, you realize you may have to wait a few weeks for ovulation. Then, you have to spend more time waiting to see if your conception took. When you finally take an at-home pregnancy test, those three minutes of waiting to see the result feels more like three years. As discouraging as it might feel to read the words “Not Pregnant”, you know that this is how the process works and you keep trying.
But if you’ve completely changed your lifestyle to try to get pregnant and it just doesn’t seem like it’s working, it might be time to seek out a fertility consultation.

Seeing a Fertility Specialist for the First Time

There is a flood of feelings you might experience when you decide it’s time for you and your partner to talk to a doctor.  However, you’ve waited long enough. Speaking with a fertility specialist shouldn’t be considered embarrassing or scary. Getting help from a doctor only shows how committed and passionate you are about having a child. If it’s the potential of negative results holding you back, avoidance will only prolong your disappointment. But on the other hand, your efforts could pay off with a new addition to your family! By scheduling a fertility consultation, you’re taking your first proactive step to having a baby.
If having a child is your ultimate goal, it’s up to you to take the necessary leaps and bounds to start growing your family.

What to Expect

Fertility treatment is a complex process that requires a lot of decision-making, appointments, and financial arrangements, which is why it’s important to start the process as soon as possible. Red Rock Fertility Center provides an extraordinary staff and state-of-the-art equipment to help make the process go as smoothly as possible. We even offer free Fertility Seminars to answer any questions you might have before making any big decisions. These seminars are a great way to make you feel more at ease about alternate conceptions.

After receiving the results of your fertility test, there are several options to consider when building your family. Some of these options include:
*In Vitro Fertilization – IVF is an option for low sperm motility, low sperm count, ovulation disorders, uterine fibroids, or other genetic disorders. This process takes about 4 – 6 weeks from start to finish.
*Intrauterine Insemination – This IUI treatment is usually used to treat couples with male fertility or egg count issues. This process skips over the step of having the sperm swim through the cervix to reach the egg.
*Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection – ICSI is the process of injecting a single sperm directly into the egg. This process requires highly specialized equipment, but has been proven to be highly successful when male infertility is a factor.
You and your fertility specialist can talk about all of the above options to determine which process is best for you and your growing family.

The Cost of Fertility Treatment

Even though fertility treatment can be a long and complicated process, it still can be more affordable than people think! It’s important to speak with your insurance carrier because some health insurance plans may cover the cost of the fertility diagnosis, and about 30% of insurance plans will cover the fertility treatment. After checking with your insurance, you may want to consider a financial plan to help break down your payment into smaller, monthly payments. At Red Rock Fertility Center, our specialized financial counselor can help assess your finances and come up with a plan that works with your budget.
It’s time to end all your waiting. If you think infertility may be stopping you from having your dream family, visiting Red Rock Fertility Center is your next step. Having a baby isn’t always easy but when you have experienced help on your side, you can take advantage of these valuable resources.
